Blizzard Defenseman Schmit Makes College Commitment

The Alexandria Blizzard of the North American 3 Hockey League are proud to announce that forward, Easton Schmit, has committed to play NCAA Division III college hockey for Hiram College (Hiram, Ohio).

Schmit spent two seasons in the NA3HL with the Alexandria Blizzard. The 2025-26 season was his best season offensively. He recorded 34 points during the regular season, and an additional two points in the post season. He had six goals and 30 assists throughout 42 games.

He was named to the NA3HL All Division Team (West) for both consecutive seasons he was in the league. 

Schmit’s best performance of the year came on Jan. 17 against the Mason City Toros. He recorded four total points during the game, consisting of one goal and three assists to aid in the Blizzard’s 9-4 victory over the Toros.

Schmit is one of seven players from the Alexandria Blizzard to make a college commitment this season.
