NA3HL Alumni Represented at 2026 NHL Development Camps

Three players with former ties to the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) have been invited to NHL development and prospect camps this summer, which follow the conclusion of the NHL draft. These camps took place during the week of June 28 to July 4.

Invited to the Montreal Canadiens development camp running from June 30 to July 2 was Dillan Bentley. Bentley spent significant time under the NAHL umbrella of leagues during his hockey career. Bentley played for the Peoria Mustangs in the NA3HL during the 2019-2020 season, where he played in 46 games and recorded 55 total points consisting of 30 goals and 25 assists. He then moved up to play for the New Mexico Ice Wolves in the NAHL where he spent time as a captain before earning an NCAA commitment to UMass-Lowell. He is currently signed with the Laval Rocket, the AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens.

Shane Soderwall was invited to the Philadelphia Flyers development camp, running from June 29 to July 3. Soderwall spent two consecutive seasons with the Rochester Grizzlies from 2019-2021 where he played in 34 games across both seasons. His last season in the NA3HL he had a .949 save percentage. During the 2021-2022 season he transitioned into the NAHL, playing for the Anchorage Wolverines before earning a NCAA commitment to Curry College. He most recently finished the 2025-2026 season at Clarkson University.

Lucas Wahlin, recently signed to a one-year contract with the Winnipeg Jets, was invited to the Jets development camp running from June 29 to July 3. He played for the North Iowa Bulls in the NA3HL for the 2019-2020 season. He played in 38 games and amassed 59 total points consisting of 32 goals and 27 assists. He also spent some time in the NAHL during the 2019-2020 season with the Jamestown Rebels and the Kenai River Brown Bears. He continued to play with the Brown Bears until 2021 before going to the USHL. He earned a NCAA commitment to the University of St. Thomas, where he spent time as a captain for three consecutive years.
