Minnesota Forward Murray Makes College Commitment

July 2, 2026

The Minnesota Moose of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that forward Cullen Murray has committed to play NCAA Division III college hockey for St. Mary’s University (Winona, Minnesota).

This past season, the Shorewood, Minnesota native only appeared in nine games for the Minnesota Moose. In those nine games, Murray was efficient, recording nine points. Those nine points included six goals and three assists.

During the 2025-26 season, Murray also spent time in the NAHL playing for both the Minnesota Mallards and the Minnesota Wilderness.

"Cullen endured an injury shortened season but was very productive for the Minnesota Moose when in the lineup. As a point per game player for the Moose,” said Minnesota Moose Head Coach Todd Sanden. “Four of Cullen's 6 goals were power play goals. He definitely excelled in man up situations. Cullen has a goal scorer's touch and puts himself in position to get scoring opportunities."

Murray’s best performance of the season came against the Granite City Lumberjacks on Nov. 11. In that game, Murray scored two goals, one of which was the opening goal of the game in the first period. The Moose defeated the Lumberjacks by a score of 6-3 at home.

Murray is one of seven players from the Minnesota Moose to make a college commitment this season.
