Texas Defenseman Phillips Makes College Commitment

The Texas Brahmas of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Malo Phillips has committed to play ACHA Division I college hockey for the University of Jamestown (Jamestown, North Dakota).

Phillips spent three seasons with the Texas Brahmas. His most successful season offensively was the 20252-2026 season when he recorded 14 total points, including three goals and 11 assists across 45 games during the regular season.

“We’re thrilled to see Malo achieve his dream of playing hockey at the collegiate level. Jamestown is getting one of the hardest workers in the entire league,” said Brahmas Head Coach Michael Rooney. “We wish him all the best in the next step of his career!”

One of his best performances of the 2025-26 season was on Mar. 3 against the Tulsa Oilers. He had one assist to help the Brahmas take a 14-3 victory over the Oilers. 

Phillips is joining the #5 ranked team in the ACHA Division I. They finished their season 21-12 overall before ending their playoff run while in the first round of the national tournament. 

Phillips is one of three players from the Texas Brahmas to make a college commitment this season.
