Louisiana Forward Tymchak Makes College Commitment

The Louisiana Drillers of the North American 3 Hockey League are proud to announce that forward  Carter Tymchak has committed to play ACHA Division I college hockey for the University of Jamestown (Jamestown, North Dakota).

Tymchak has spent three seasons in the NA3HL. He began his league career with the Yellowstone Quake during the 2023-2024 season. He joined the Drillers during the 2024-2025 season and remained with them throughout the remainder of his time in the league. His improvement was evident as the 20252-2026 season was his most successful statistically.

Tymchak recorded 51 points across 43 games this season. He had 22 goals and 29 assists. 

“Having Carter with the Drillers these past two seasons has been nothing short of amazing.  He was a great teammate, competitor, and leader. He has championship experience at this level and we all are excited to watch him continue his hockey journey at the next level,” said Drillers Head Coach Chris Francis.

Tymchak had a standout seven point game this season against the Atlanta Capitals on Sep. 27. He recorded six assists and one goal of his own to help aid the Drillers in a 18-1 victory over the capitals. 

Tymchak was a member of the 2024-2025 Fraser Cup Championship winning team. 

Tymchak is joining the #5 ranked team in the ACHA Division I. They finished their season 21-12 overall before ending their playoff run in the first round of the national tournament. 

Tymchak is one of four players from the Louisiana Drillers to make a college commitment this season.
