Louisiana Forward Gnau Makes College Commitment

The Louisiana Drillers of the North American 3 Hockey League are proud to announce that forward Carter Gnau has committed to play ACHA Division I college hockey for the University of Cincinnati (Cincinnati, Ohio).

The Ohio native spent one season in the NA3HL. During the 2025-26 season, he was a standout forward in the league. He had 111 points across the 2025-2026 regular season, including 44 goals and 67 assists during 45 games.

The 2006 birth year was ranked 4th in assists, 6th in points and 7th in goals among all forwards in the league. 

He played in all four games during the 2026 Fraser Cup Championship, and recorded one goal.

In February of 2026, Clouse was selected to compete in the Top Prospects Tournament. The tournament consisted of the best uncommitted players in NA3HL and the NAHL. Clouse represented the NA3HL on team Gold. He recorded one assist during the prospect tournament.

“We were very lucky to have had Carter this season and we know he will continue to do great things at the next level,” Drillers Head Coach Chris Francis said. “ Cincinnati is gaining not just a great hockey player but also a wonderful human being and I'm so happy for Carter and this next step in his journey.”

Gnau had two back-to-back six point games against the Bayou State Rougarou on Feb. 28 and Mar. 1. Across these two games he recorded four goals and eight assists. These games were Gnau’s best performances this season.

Gnau is one of four players from the Louisiana Drillers to make a college commitment this season.
