Bayou State Defenseman Hayden Simerson Makes College Commitment

The Bayou State Rougarou of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Hayden Simerson has committed to play ACHA Division II college hockey for Dallas Baptist University (Dallas, Texas).

Simerson played for the Lumberjacks for one season. The Saginaw, Texas native played in 32 games in the 2025-2026 season. One of his best offensive games this season was against the Atlanta Capitals on Feb. 20, where he added one assist to aid in the Rougarou’s 7-1 victory over the Capitals.

Throughout the 2025-2026 season he had three assists.

“Hayden has put in the work every single day, and we couldn’t be more proud to see him continue his hockey career at Dallas Baptist,” Rougarou Head Coach Paul Maclean said. “This is a well-earned opportunity, and we’re excited to see what’s next for him.”

Simerson is one of five players from the Bayou State Rougarou to make a college commitment this season.
