Lumberjacks Defenseman Ray Makes College Commitment

The Granite City Lumberjacks of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Mason Ray has committed to play ACHA Division I college hockey for University of Mary (Bismarck, North Dakota).

Ray played for the Lumberjacks for 2 seasons. The Grand Forks, North Dakota native played in 41 games in the 2025-2026 season. His best offensive game this season was against the New Hampshire Jr. Mountain Kings on Dec. 14, where he scored 3 goals to aid in the Lumberjacks’ 7-1 victory.

The 2025-2026 season was his best offensive season. He had 7 goals and 13 assists across the regular season.

During the 2026 Fraser Cup Championship, he played in all 4 games. During the championship final he had 1 assist to help aid his team in a 4-0 victory over the Louisiana Drillers.

Ray joins the #10 ranked team in ACHA DI. The University of Mary made it to the second round of the ACHA DI National Championship. They were 27-14 overall.

Ray is one of seven players from the 2026 Fraser Championship team to make a college commitment this season.
