Nordiques Goaltender Burnett Makes College Commitment
The Maine Nordiques of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that goaltender Riley Burnett has committed to play ACHA Division III college hockey for Dordt University (Sioux Center, Iowa).
During the 2025-26 season in the NA3HL, the Mankato, Minnesota native played in 42 games, with a record of 16-18.
Burnett began his NA3HL career with the Louisiana Drillers, and later in the season the Wisconsin Lumberjacks, in the 2023-2024 season, before he played in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) for some of the 2024-2025 season. He joined the Maine Nordiques that same season.
The 6-foot-1 netminder had a .909 save percentage in the 2025-26 season.
His most successful performance was on Feb. 26 against the Long Beach Sharks. He had 54 saves aiding in the Nordiques’ 2-1 victory.
In November of 2023, he was named the NA3HL South Division Star of the Week. Burnett was also a US Prep National Champion in the 2022-2023 season.
Burnett joins the #8 ranked team in the ACHA DIII. They were 28-5 overall, and they made it to the ACHA national tournament before ending their season in pool play.
Burnett is the only player from the Nordiques to make a college commitment this season.
