Minnesota Defenseman Jensen Makes College Commitment

The Minnesota Moose of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Gavin Jensen has committed to play ACHA Division I college hockey for Grand Canyon University (Phoenix, Arizona).

Over the past two seasons for the Moose, the Beloit, Wisconsin has played in 87 games and recorded 46 points from the blue line. His best offensive season came this past year when he tallied 26 points including two goals and 24 assists in 47 games. 

The 24 assists that Jensen recorded this season left him ranked in the top-30 across all defensemen in the league. 

“Gavin has been a staple for the past two years patrolling the blue line. Gavins' impact on our team is not measurable in stats alone,” said Minnesota Moose Head Coach Todd Sanden. “As a captain, he helped engage teammates, set standards, and lead the buy-in of our team. We will miss his presence both on and off the ice.” 

In February, Jensen participated in the Top Prospects Tournament for Team Black. The tournament is composed of the best uncommitted talent in both the NAHL and NA3HL. Jensen recorded an assist in two games.

Jensen’s best performance offensively came on Jan. 17 against the Willmar Warhawks. Jensen recorded a goal and an assist for two total points. The defenseman had six multi-point games this season.  

Jensen is one of six players from the Minnesota Moose to make a college commitment this season.
