New Mexico Forward Wenner Makes College Commitment

The New Mexico Ice Wolves of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that forward Jacob Wenner has committed to play NCAA Division III college hockey for Albright College (Reading, Pennsylvania).

During the 2025-26 season, the Albuquerque, New Mexico native was a crucial part of the offense for the New Mexico Ice Wolves as he led the team in total points and assists. 

This past season, Wenner matched his point total from the season prior with 55 total points. Those 55 points left him ranked in the top-50 across all players in the league. The 37 assists that he recorded left the forward ranked in the top-30 across all forwards in the league. Wenner has been consistently effective on the offensive side of the puck for the Ice Wolves. 

In February of 2026, Wenner competed in the Top Prospects Tournament in Plymouth, Michigan. This tournament consists of the best uncommitted talent in the NAHL and NA3HL. The 2005 birth year represented team Gold and appeared in two games, where he recorded a goal for his team. 

The best performances of the 2025-26 season from Wenner came on Feb. 14 against the Tulsa Oilers. In that game, Wenner recorded four points for the Ice Wolves in the team’s commanding victory over the Oilers. Those four points consisted of two games and two assists. This game accounted for one of three four point games recorded by Wenner this past season. 

Wenner is one of two players from the New Mexico Ice Wolves to make a college commitment this season.
