St. Louis Forward Sanderson Makes College Commitment

May 19, 2026

The St. Louis Jr. Blues of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that forward Rece Sanderson has committed to play ACHA Division I college hockey for the University of Louisville (Louisville, Kentucky).

The Columbia, Illinois native has been a part of the St. Louis Jr. Blues program for the past two seasons. The forward has played in 92 games and recorded 24 total points during that time.

The best statistical season for the 6-foot-2 forward came in 2025-26 when he recorded 15 points in 46 games. He showed great improvement from the season prior as he almost doubled his point production.

“Rece has shown tremendous improvement over his two seasons with the Jr. Blues. Becoming a formidable opponent with his leadership, physical play and prominent defensive capabilities has made him a tremendous asset as a team player,” said St. Louis Jr. Blues Head Coach Matt Oello. “We look forward to watching him play at the ACHA Division I level over the coming years.”

The best performance of the 2025-26 season from Sanderson came on Dec. 14 against the Long Beach Sharks. In that game, Sanderson recorded a goal and an assist as the Jr. Blues defeated the Sharks by a score of 4-1.

Sanderson is one of nine players from the St. Louis Jr. Blues to make a college commitment this season.
