Former Minnesota Defenseman Wodarz Makes College Commitment

May 14, 2026

The Minnesota Moose of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Nelson Wodarz has committed to play NCAA Division III college hockey for Post University (Waterbury, Connecticut).

During the 2025-26 season, the Roseville, Minnesota native played in 32 games for the Minnesota Moose. During those 32 games the defenseman recorded six points, all of which were assists. The physicality of the defenseman is what made him stand out above the rest.

"Nelson is a hard defender who brings an edge and physicality,” said Minnesota Moose Head Coach Todd Sanden. “Nelson was a big part of our season's success and was very missed, due to injury, during the late season push and playoffs. The Moose are excited to watch Nelson's development at the NCAA level."

Wodarz is a NA3HL veteran who had spent three seasons in the league and spent time on five different teams.

The best performance of the 2025-26 season from Wodarz came on Jan. 3 against the Alexandria Blizzard. In the game, Wodarz recorded an assist on the game winning goal for the Moose. Minnesota won the game over Alexandria by a score of 4-3 on the road.

Wodarz is one of five players from the Minnesota Moose to make a college commitment this year.
