Former Texas Defenseman Garvey Makes College Commitment

The Texas Brahmas of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Patrick Garvey has committed to play ACHA Division I college hockey for Northwood University (Midland, Michigan).

For the past two seasons with the Texas Brahmas, the Silver Lake, Ohio native has been a reliable piece of the defensive unit. Garvey has also shown tremendous growth offensively from his first season in the league to his second. 

The best statistical season for Garvey came in 2025-26 when he recorded 33 total points for the Brahmas in 44 games. Those 33 points included 15 goals and 18 assists which leaves him in the top-25 for all defensemen in points and top-5 in goals. 

Those numbers more than double his point total from the 2024-25 season where the defenseman recorded 14 total points in 43 games.

“Patrick has worked extremely hard this year to earn an opportunity,” said Texas Brahmas Head Coach Michael Rooney. “Northwood is getting a big body to help either side of the puck. We're very proud of him and excited to see what he does at the next level.” 

The best performance of the 2025-26 season from Garvey came on Feb. 21 against the El Paso Rhinos. In the game, the 6-foot-1 defenseman scored the first two goals of the game to give his team an early lead. Texas never looked back and took the victory by a score of 6-2 on home ice. 

Garvey is the only player from the Texas Brahmas to make a college commitment this season.
