Former Texas Forward Garrett Makes Division III College Commitment
The Texas RoadRunners of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that forward Michael Garrett has committed to play NCAA Division III college hockey for Western New England University (Springfield, Massachusetts).
During the 2025-26 season in the NA3HL, the St. Paul, Minnesota native found great success on the offensive side of the puck for the Texas RoadRunners. Garrett recorded 44 points in 46 games during the RoadRunners’ 2025-26 campaign.
The 2005 birth year’s 44 points leaves him ranked in the top-100 in total points amongst all forwards in the NA3HL. The 22 goals that he scored leaves him ranked in the top-75 amongst all forwards in the league.
In February of 2026, Garrett was selected to compete in the Top Prospects Tournament. The tournament consisted of the best uncommitted players in NA3HL and the NAHL. Garrett represented the NA3HL on team Gold.
“Michael was a huge part of our team this season and our leadership group as well. He works hard both on and off the ice and we feel he will be a great addition to Western New England and will compete well at the NCAA level,” said Texas RoadRunners bench boss Mike Beavis. “We are extremely proud of Michael’s accomplishment and are wishing him all the best with his schooling and hockey future."
The best performance of the season from Garrett came on Sept. 6 against the Pelham Prowlers. In that game the forward recorded 4 goals and an assist in the RoadRunners’ commanding victory.
Garrett is the only player from the Texas RoadRunners to make a college commitment this season.
