Wranglers Assistant Captain Andegren makes NCAA Commitment

The West Texas Wranglers of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that Assistant Captain William Andegren has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the newly established program at Albright College. Albright, located in Reading, Pennsylvania, will field an NCAA DIII ice hockey program for its inaugural season beginning in the fall of 2026.

Andegren, 20, made the jump to the United States for his age-out season of junior hockey and quickly became a key piece for the West Texas Wranglers in their inaugural NA3HL campaign. The ‘05 forward made an immediate impact, finishing second on the team in scoring with 31 points (17 goals, 14 assists) in 45 games.

Throughout the season, Andegren showcased his consistency as an offensive contributor, including a stretch where he recorded points in six consecutive games.

One standout performance came in mid-September when the Wranglers secured a thrilling 6-5 overtime victory over the New Mexico Ice Wolves. In that matchup, Andegren scored back-to-back goals to help push the game to overtime, where West Texas ultimately completed the win.

His strong play earned him recognition at the 2026 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament, where he represented the Wranglers as a member of Team Gold.

Wranglers Head Coach Austin Sutter says Andegren’s commitment is a direct result of the work he put in from day one in West Texas: “William came to West Texas because his goal was very clear — he wanted to earn the opportunity to play college hockey. From day one he bought into everything we ask of our players, both on the ice and as a person in our program. He worked for it every single day.

We were proud to be part of the process with him, and when the opportunity with Albright came together, we felt it was a great fit for William as both a player and a person. Coach German is building something strong there, and it says a lot about William that they wanted him to be part of starting that program’s first season — just like he helped us start ours here in West Texas.

His leadership, commitment, and the way he carried himself this year didn’t go unnoticed. He was a big part of helping lay the foundation of our program in our inaugural season, and we’re excited to see him take this next step.”

He is one of two players from the Wranglers to make a college commitment this season.
