Bayou State’s Denis Portnoy wrapped up the period by netting his seventh goal in the past three games. Rougarou's Landen Crall tied the score to start the second, assisted by Donovan Dunbar. The lead returned to Atlanta when Brayden Grant scored on the Capitals' second power-play opportunity of the afternoon. From there, Bayou State became a fiery offensive force, extending their lead throughout the remainder of the second and third periods. Bayou State's Peyton Essex added another tally on the power-play before Ethan Tierman ended the period with another goal for the Rougarou, making the score 5-3 entering the final 20 minutes.
